The Malcolm's Miniatures team consists of Malcolm Smith and Silvia Lane. Our modelling experience is extensive.

I started almost 40 years ago, as a youngster (like many others), building Airfix kits - tanks, soldiers, aeroplanes, etc. From this I progressed to model railways. I also enjoyed military modelling - vehicles, wargames and model soldiers - creating dioramas and vignettes. I have also created model boats and horse-drawn vehicles. For many years I created model buildings and scenery for Pendon Museum - probably the finest example of 4mm scenic and railway modelling in the country.

My professional experience includes 12 years of designing electronics and control systems and 15 years in IT, software development and computer graphics including creation of computer 3D models, animations and video editing.

Malcolm specialises in miniature furniture, dolls houses and room boxes

I have always been interested in all sorts of crafts and textile work including stumpwork, lacemaking, knitting, painting, pottery, stained glass. My interest in textiles and doll making led to the creation of miniature figurines. I have also created model scenery for Pendon Museum.
